14 year old Abbie Dean who trains at Basecamp Gym at Ellesmere, has been inspired to undertake a charity ‘Wodathon’.
One of Abbie’s coaches Laura Edwards was sadly diagnosed in January with breast cancer, but even after surgery and undergoing chemotherapy Laura inspires Abbie by continuing to train and taking her classes.
Abbie’s mum Vicki said “On Sunday 22nd July Abbie will be doing a 12 hour wodathon at Basecamp Gym Ellesmere. This will be 12 hours of workouts which are for all ability, and she will be having active rest in between so she will be on a rower/walking or treadmill seeing how many miles she can also accumulate in the 12 hours. People can pay £5 an hour to workout with Abbie, we also have a number of fantastic raffles that will be drawn throughout the day.
Abbie has had amazing support from Oswestry and Ellesmere business which we are all very grateful for, also the crossfit community have been amazing”.
Raffle tickets are available from Basecamp Gym or Ismays in Ellesmere.
Abbies virgin money giving page is www.virginmoneygiving.com/AbbieDean3 where people can also sponsor her or pay for tickets
‘Twisted Kitchen’ will be coming to sell pizzas so even if you don’t want to workout why not just come along and support Abbie and buy pizza as all profit will be donated to charity.
