The Oswestry Christmas Parade is set to return this year, taking place on Saturday, 6th December 2025. As the year quickly passes, preparations are already underway for this much-loved annual event.

Last year’s parade was unfortunately cancelled due to severe weather conditions, with a predicted storm hitting on the very day it was scheduled. While the decision to cancel proved to be the right one, organisers are hopeful for better weather this time around.

Jonathan Jones, who coordinates the parade on behalf of Borderland Rotary Club, emphasised the importance of early planning. “It may feel early to talk about Christmas,” he said, “but we need to know who wants to take part and help them get ready for the big day.”

A longstanding community favourite, the parade not only brings festive joy and smiles to the town but also raises significant funds for local causes. Over the years, it has contributed thousands of pounds to support various charities and initiatives in the area.

Jones also expressed gratitude to the local businesses for their support: “Last year, many shops generously donated money ahead of the event to help with preparations, and we’ll be using those funds to support this year’s parade. I’m always amazed at the generosity of both individuals and businesses—thank you all.”
