A £7.5 million investment in the historic Tedsmore Hall estate near Oswestry by the Robert Parker Collection Group has transformed former stable buildings and added new mews-style cottages, creating a high-quality accommodation destination on the Shropshire-Mid Wales border.
The development includes the extensive conversion of former stable blocks, the construction of new mews-style cottages, investment in solar energy and ground-source heat pump technology, and major improvements to the estate’s landscaped grounds.
The expanded accommodation is designed to meet growing demand from wedding guests, families, leisure visitors and business travellers staying in the area.
Located near West Felton, Oswestry, Tedsmore is well placed for people visiting Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Wrexham, Chester, North and Mid Wales and the wider Welsh Borders for business or leisure.
The cottages combine spacious living areas, fully equipped kitchens, stylish bedrooms and modern facilities, giving guests the flexibility to stay together while retaining their own space and privacy.
For wedding guests, the accommodation provides an alternative to families and groups being split between separate hotels, guest houses and holiday properties. Groups can stay for a single night or extend their visit before and after the wedding, turning a one-day celebration into a relaxed multi-day gathering.
The development also gives businesses an alternative to placing visiting directors, clients, contractors and employees in individual hotel rooms.
It is particularly well suited to longer project stays, employee relocations and residential company gatherings, including leadership sessions, strategy meetings, away days and team-building visits.
Robert Parker, Chairman of the Robert Parker Collection Group, said:
“This £7.5 million investment in the Tedsmore Hall estate has allowed us to bring historic buildings back into high-quality use while creating additional accommodation that meets a wide range of needs.
“We welcome families and friends attending weddings, people visiting the region for leisure and employees working locally for anything from a few nights to several weeks.
“Tedsmore Cottages allows groups to stay together, cook, eat and socialise in a way that is difficult when everyone is spread between separate hotel rooms.
“At the same time, each cottage provides the comfort, personal space and privacy expected by today’s guests.
“Tedsmore’s location makes it particularly convenient for people visiting businesses, attending weddings or exploring attractions across Shropshire, Wrexham, North and Mid Wales and the wider Welsh Borders, as well as those travelling along the Telford and Chester corridors.”
Guests have access to extensive landscaped grounds, ample parking, Wi-Fi, recreational facilities and a private estate walking trail.
The latest phase of the development provides 14 cottages with a total of 54 bedrooms, giving the estate capacity to accommodate up to 105 guests.
Much of the stable-block refurbishment and new-build work was undertaken by local companies, supporting businesses and skilled trades across the surrounding area.
Mr Parker added:
“The investment is not simply about creating more accommodation. It is about protecting the character of the estate, supporting the local economy and encouraging more visitors to stay and spend time in this beautiful part of the world.”
