Oswestry Cricket Club officials were delighted to hear the news this morning that the first team has been reinstated to the Shropshire County Cricket Premier League in place of Bridgnorth Second XI after the South Shropshire Club’s late appeal had been upheld at the League’s executive meeting last night.

It has been a prolonged and challenging last few months for the Morda Road Club which can now focus on planning for, what is hoped, will be a successful season ahead.

First Team Skipper, Robbie Clarke, who is presently out in Australia where his younger brother, Joe, the Nottinghamshire batsman, is playing for Melbourne Stars, said :

“This is absolutely fantastic news. We are really grateful to all who have stuck by us in recent weeks. Our plans for next season are already well under way and we cannot wait to get started”.
