The Bailey Head in Oswestry has had to increase its deliveries of Craft Beer, Real Ale, cocktails, artisan spirits and snacks due to popular demand. The pub, which was crowned the UK’s Best Independent Rural Craft Beer Pub or Bar by the Society of Independent Brewers in March 2020 has had to continually adapt due to the demands and ever changing COVID restrictions.
Landlady Grace Goodlad said: “Back in March last year the Government closed us just days after picking up the prestigious national award. We reopened in May offering a popular takeaway service, and then of course the Government allowed us to open offering table service, before closing us again and only allowing home deliveries in November. We rapidly added a store to our website to allow customers to purchase from our range of 200 products and started delivering locally six days a week.
“As time has gone on, demand has grown for my husband Duncan to deliver further afield and we have had to be increasingly flexible, delivering in central Oswestry six days a week and rotating through surrounding areas on different days. The latest additions are a weekly delivery to LLanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant town centre and twice weekly deliveries to Ellesmere and Chirk. In the current climate with pubs being some of the hardest hit businesses you have to adapt to survive and as far as we are aware we are the only pub in North Shropshire offering an almost daily delivery service.”
The Bailey Head’s current delivery area is: SY11 1, SY11 2 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
