One of the area’s much-loved annual events is set to return this August, with Berriew Show promising another fantastic day of competition, entertainment and community spirit for visitors of all ages.
Taking place on Saturday 29th August 2026, the show is expected to welcome several thousand visitors to the show field, located three miles south of Welshpool, for a packed programme of attractions alongside great food and drink, shopping and family entertainment.
The main arena will be at the heart of the action, with an exciting programme featuring Above and Beyond Aerial and their spectacular trapeze act, together with the talented Walsall Jazz Orchestra.
Visitors can also look forward to plenty of traditional show favourites, including children’s races, fancy dress, vintage vehicles and performances from Sally Gartell Academy of Dance, along with a few surprises throughout the day.
The show’s ever-popular horse, dog and native breed sheep competitions will return, while the competition marquee is expected to showcase more than 1,000 entries.
There will be plenty to keep younger visitors entertained too. The Red Flame Steam Train will be ready to welcome younger passengers, while teenagers can take on the challenge of the ANMAC seven-metre climbing wall and Zorb arena.
Music lovers will be well catered for, with nine live music acts performing in the popular Sound Tent. Elsewhere around the showground, visitors will discover archery, llamas, donkeys, Nulu Hula Circus Skills, a funfair and an impressive display of around 100 vintage vehicles.
Those looking to relax and enjoy refreshments will also find a well-stocked bar and refreshment tent.
Shopping forms another major part of the Berriew Show experience, with around 100 trade stands, 60 high-quality craft stalls and 20 food and drink stands offering plenty to browse, discover and enjoy throughout the day.
With such a huge variety of attractions included, organisers say the event continues to offer a great-value day out for the whole family — with free parking available for visitors.
