It was a big day for Borderland Rotary Club the other day!
It was the annual handover of the club presidency which went off without violence, vote rigging or Russian involvement but with just a little jolly heckling! Geoff Barre took over the reins from Sherie Soper who has enjoyed an extremely successful term with the Oswestry Fireworks last November followed by the, bigger than ever Christmas Parade as visible highlights. Geoff certainly has his work cut out for the coming year.
It was also an opportunity to present the Paul Harris Fellowship award to two members and Lady Trevor was on hand to do the presentation.
Paul Fellows was the founder of the Rotary movement and the award, named in his honour, is to recognise distinguished service and commitment to the club and its principals.
Harry Richardson and Paul Evison are both long term members who have served the club tirelessly for all of this century and quite a bit more.
