This June, Borderland Visual Arts (BVA) invites you to discover the depth of creative talent across the Oswestry area through its much-anticipated Open Studios Art Trail 2026.

Taking place over two weekends—13th & 14th June and 20th & 21st June, from 10am to 5pm—32 artists will open their studio doors, with some artists working individually and others exhibiting together in shared studio spaces. It’s a unique opportunity to meet the artists, experience their work up close, and gain a deeper understanding of their individual creative processes.

The BVA is a thriving network of around 78 artists living and working in and around Oswestry, representing a wide range of disciplines. From painting and printmaking to ceramics, sculpture, jewellery and mixed media, the standard of work on show is exceptionally high. Many artists will also be demonstrating their techniques, offering a rare insight into traditional and contemporary practices.

Studios are spread across a 12-mile radius of Oswestry, including Oswestry’s own studios, making the trail an enjoyable way to explore both the local landscape and its creative community. Look out for red balloons and signage outside each participating studio to guide you along the way.

A great place to begin is the Willow Gallery in Oswestry, which is hosting the Open Studios Exhibition. Here, you’ll find a snapshot of the artists’ work, along with a clear and easy-to-use brochure featuring an interactive map to help you plan your route. Brochures are also available across Oswestry and the surrounding area.

Whether you’re an art enthusiast or simply looking for an inspiring way to spend a weekend, the BVA Open Studios Art Trail 2026 offers a relaxed and engaging way to connect with local artists and their work.
