A fungal nail specialist with an innovative treatment for fungal nail infections has started a mobile laser therapy service.
Carl Mairs, a fully qualified practitioner and member of the Aesthetic Laser Technicians Association and the British Medical Laser Association, says two 20-minute, pain free treatments is all it takes to destroy nail fungus forever.
The treatment, says Carl, is clinically proven: “It’s the only fully safe and properly effective treatment and it’s cheaper and easier than getting treatment through the NHS. Current alternatives involve highly toxic antifungals and medicine to deal with the symptoms the antifungals cause.
“Figures show that the traditional method of treatment has a reinfection rate of over 22% after two years and higher after five years. The treatment I use is at least 95% effective and doesn’t affect the health or wellbeing of the client.”
The treatment was developed by dermatologists in six European countries after exhaustive studies showed that using short pulse Nd:YAG lasers targeted the pigment in the fungus to destroy the infection.
The treatment can be carried out in any home or workplace around Llangollen, Oswestry and Wrexham and requires only a private room and access to electric. Carl also offers a consulting room at his own home in Froncysyllte if preferred.
Carl has been a laser practitioner since 2010, when he set up a laser clinic in Chester, specialising in pigment removal. In 2016 he refreshed his skills and specialised in fungal nail treatments.
