Audiences are invited to celebrate St David’s Day with a spectacular evening of music, on Saturday 7th March, 7:00pm, at St Oswald’s Parish Church, Oswestry. The concert will feature two outstanding choirs: The Fron Male Voice Choir and Lleisiau’r Afon Ladies Choir.

This uplifting concert will showcase the wonderful voices of both choirs as they perform a rich programme of traditional and contemporary songs. The evening promises to be a true celebration and choral excellence in the beautiful and historic setting of St Oswald’s Parish Church.

All money raised from this concert will go to The Movement Centre, a specialist children’s charity that delivers life-changing physiotherapy to children from all over the UK. The charity can only continue its vital work with the support of the local community through events such as this.

The concert will culminate in a powerful and moving performance of the Welsh National Anthem, bringing the evening to a memorable and stirring close.

Tickets are available now via the Eventbrite link below. Come along on Saturday 7th March at 7:00pm, enjoy an unforgettable evening of singing, and show your support for an incredible children’s charity.

Roger Williams, a member of the choir “The Fron Choir is very happy to be supporting The Movement Centre once again this year. It does really important work supporting children with movement difficulties, giving them more freedom and confidence, with staff that absolutely love what they do! This is the first concert of 2026 for The Fron in what looks like being another very busy year.”

2026 marks the 20th Anniversary of the release of the first in the series of Voices of the Valley albums with Universal Music in 2006. Next year the choir will be celebrating the 80th Anniversary of its founding in 1947.

The Fron rehearse every Monday and Thursday evenings from 7 – 9 pm at Ysgol Rhiwabon. The rehearsals are open so please come along and, if you are inclined, join us for a song or two.

Lleisiau’r Afon is a very successful ladies choir started by Leigh Mason in 2018. Leigh is also Conductor and Musical Director of The Fron Male Voice Choir with whom they perform regularly.

Lleisiau’r Afon Ladies Choir is based in the beautiful village of Carrog, in the gorgeous Dee Valley between Llangollen and Corwen. They very quickly rose through the ranks of ladies’ choirs and have competed at local, national and international level.

They have a wonderful close harmony tone with wonderful repertoire that challenges the voices but never the audience.

“The ladies are very pleased to be able to support the marvellous work the Movement Centre does for children nationally.”

Curtis Langley, Fundraising Lead, “We are excited to bring the Fron Male Voice Choir to Oswestry again after the success of our last concert. This year they will be joined by ladies choir Lleisiau’r Afon, lead by the same conductor. The evening should be special once again, and we would be delighted if Oswestry and the surrounding areas would get behind it and help us raise vital funds for the Movement Centre.”
