Music fans, families and the local community will welcome in summer under the stars at Shropshire’s own ‘Clone Henge’ – the Quinta Stone Circle in Weston Rhyn – during the Quinta Solstice Festival on Saturday 20 June.

The Grade II listed limestone folly, near Oswestry, will be transformed into an open-air festival of live entertainment as music fans celebrate the start of summer, while also raising funds for Derwen College Charity.

Set against the backdrop of the Quinta Stone Circle, a Grade II listed nineteenth-century limestone folly at The Quinta, the event will run from midday into the early hours. Live performances will come from Rock of Ages, Something 4 The Weekend, All Five Horizons and The Slogans, alongside an acoustic stage and a DJ set continuing through the night.

Festival-goers can also enjoy food from a variety of vendors, a licensed bar, children’s entertainment and free parking, with camping included in the ticket price and the option to bring your own drinks. Tickets are priced at £20, with free entry for under-13s.

Gates open from midday, with music starting at 2pm and the celebration continuing through to sunrise at 4.24am on Sunday morning.

Festival organiser Steve Kynaston said: “I’m really lucky to have the ‘Clone Henge’, otherwise known as the Quinta Stone Circle, on my property, and it’s great to be able to open it up to the local community in this way and raise some money for a good local cause. Come along and join in the fun – it’s going to be a great night.”

Bryony Wesson, Derwen College fundraiser, said: “We are very grateful to Steve and to everyone supporting the Quinta Solstice Festival. As well as being a lovely community event, every pound raised helps us provide extra opportunities and experiences for students, supporting their learning, confidence and independence.”
