Shropshire Chamber of Commerce has donated more than £1,000 to county-based charity Hope House from the fundraising proceeds of its annual meeting and festive lunch.

Members and supporters gathered at Hawkstone Hall in North Shropshire for the event, where a total of £1,070 was raised for the charity from a raffle.

Ruth Ross, Shropshire Chamber chief executive, said: “This donation is all thanks to the generosity of our members, who wanted to support this impactful charity.”

Based near Oswestry, Hope House’s mission is to give every local child with a life-threatening condition, and their family, access to professional care which improves their quality of life – from the point of diagnosis.

Shropshire Chamber supports a range of different local charities each year through fundraising activities at events such as its annual meeting, and the summer business awards.
