In June, The Fron Male Voice Choir joined the British Ironwork Centre for their incredible ‘Voices of the Valley’ concert. An exclusive event that was held at and organised by the British Ironworks Centre.
Designed to celebrate incredible music whilst raising crucial funding for the NHS, this concert was the first of its kind at the centre. The event took place in their large marquees with an incredible turnout from the local community and the wider public alike.
All proceeds raised through the sale of concert tickets were for the NHS. On the day of the concert, the Ironworks orchestrated a live poll, asking audience members which part of the NHS they felt should receive the cheque.
The overwhelming choice was The Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH), a local Gobowen hospital where many members of the public feel that greater support is needed to improve the lives of those visiting the health centre.
A few weeks ago, two representatives from RJAH’s in-house charity department visited the Ironworks to receive their cheque for £3,500 which was raised entirely through the sales of ‘Voices of the Valley’ tickets.
The British Ironwork Centre would like to say a huge thank you, again, to The Fron Male Voice Choir as well as to the RJAH staff who collected the cheque; Melanie Bygrave, Office Manager & Assistant to the Charity Director, and Julia Morgan, Charity Manager.
Since the concert took place, the Ironworks have had a large amount of public interest in a future event from The Fron Male Voice Choir. The centre is hoping to support a similar concert very very soon, raising further crucial funding for RJAH. Watch this space..
