Oswestry Community Action (Qube) is set to launch its annual Open Art Exhibition and the online preview is set for Friday 7th August.

Friday marks the launch of the annual Open Art Exhibition at Qube and this year there is the added opportunity to view the exhibition on line.

During July artists, both professional and amateur, have been submitting works which make up the collection. The response in 2020 has been greater than usual and the variety of work has resulted in a really exciting and varied exhibition.

Arts Officer Jim Creed said

‘We are always amazed by the creativity of our art community but this year we have received much more interest and submissions have come from far and wide. Due to the current situation and for the first time, we are able to launch the exhibition online which we hope will make the works accessible to more people. The winning artists will receive a £500 cash prize and we anticipate we may gather more votes in our People’s Choice Award where the winner receives the chance to stage a four week exhibition in the gallery during 2021.’

He added’ We are really hopeful that we be able to welcome people into the gallery in the not too distant future to view the exhibition for themselves. The team is working hard behind the scenes to make sure everything will be safe and we will share full details of opening hour as soon as we can.’
