Oswestry Town Mayor, Councillor Mike Isherwood, has named Wendy Hickson and her team at U&I Counselling as the Council’s first Community Champion of the civic year.
Oswestry U&I Counselling closed its doors in July after many years of providing support to thousands of people in the town.
At the presentation in The Guildhall this week, the Mayor said: “This award is given to members of our community for their outstanding contributions or achievements.
“The support and service to the community that you and your colleagues at U&I have given should be recognised. I am very pleased to present this award to you in acknowledgment of the years of hard work you have given.”
Wendy said: “I feel honoured that our work has been appreciated and recognised in this way. Thank you so much. I am delighted to accept the award for the organisation and my team at U&I Counselling.”
