The Union Flag at the Guildhall will be flown at half-mast on Thursday (30 January) in tribute to Mr Geraint Pritchard on the day of his funeral.

Mr Pritchard was Mayor of the town in 1969-70, and later also held the role of Mayor of the Borough of Oswestry.

He was a very respected member of the Oswestry community and contributed significantly to life in the town including more recently as a volunteer with the local Talking Newspaper, reading the local Welsh newspaper for listeners.

The Mayor of Oswestry Cllr Mike Isherwood said: “Mr Pritchard was a popular and respected Oswestry figure, and our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
