A continuing growth in the sale of new Vauxhall and Peugeot cars is increasing the demand for ‘smart repairs.’

In the six months since the start of a new venture, Arthurs Smart Repair Solutions, the man running the operation, Brian Lamb, says the demand for his expertise is continually rising.

And he puts this down to the brands sold by Arthurs Vauxhall and Peugeot getting stronger and new car sales rising month on month.

At the same time, Brian, a smart repair technician for 20 years, believes motorists are becoming ‘more savvy’ in terms of paying less for repairs.

“Rather than pay bodyshop prices for minor repairs such as removing a dent, blemish or scuff, it costs less and takes up less time for me to take my mobile workshop to their home or place of work,” said Brian, 52, of Morda near Oswestry.

“I am also seeing an increase in repairs being carried out at an owner’s request when a car or van is in one of the dealership’s workshops for a service.”

He takes his Peugeot Boxer mobile workshop to Arthurs Peugeot Wrexham on a Monday, Arthurs Vauxhall Oswestry on a Tuesday and Arthurs Vauxhall Newtown on a Wednesday.

He is flexible on a Thursday and Friday to re-visit one of the dealerships or see a customer at their home or workplace.

Added Brian:  “No two repairs are ever the same.  Every scratch is different.  I am learning all the time with new cars and paints providing a challenge.”
