After being closed due to Covid, Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin are happy to announce their dementia support group in Oswestry has reopened and has spaces for new members to join.
The group provides a chance for those living with dementia and their carers to get to know others and share experiences in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The charity provides members with support and information and an opportunity to take part in interesting activities, coordinated through their team of trained volunteers. The small charge for each session includes tea and light refreshments, as well as the cost of all the activities that are arranged.
Emma Wilde, Manager of Wellbeing Services for Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: “We are delighted that our Oswestry group has reopened, following closure due to Covid. Dementia friendly staff and volunteers are really looking forward to welcoming back people with dementia and their carers from this local community, to provide a social opportunity alongside stimulating activities”.
The group takes place fortnightly on a Tuesday from 11am to 1pm at York Fields Sheltered Housing Scheme, Liverpool Road West, Oswestry.
