Moreton Hall is opening its door and inviting prospective families from Reception through to Sixth Form to join them for their Whole School Open Day on the 28 September at 10am.
Moreton Hall prides itself on being a school like no other. Named Boarding School of the Year in 2021, Moreton is said to be an “exemplar of all that a great boarding school can be.”
Regardless of their background, pupils are welcomed through the front gates every term and are given the opportunity to find their own talents and interest in the comfort of a safe and nurturing environment.
Moreton has been built on the optimistic values of embrace, achieve and enjoy, and pupils at Moreton recognise the importance of these values and embody them wholeheartedly and throughout their academic career. Moreton delivers an ambitious and innovative academic curriculum, coupled with outstanding pastoral care. Combined with access to high-end facilities, pupils are given the best possible chance to not only learn and grow as individuals but achieve outstanding academic success.
91% of Moreton Hall students received their first choice of University, most of which are the more competitive Russell Group institutions. This year’s GCSE results saw a 99% pass rate and, in a year where, national figures show a steep decline in the uptake of Drama across the UK, Moreton Hall’s Drama department continues to flourish, increasing its intake of students and achieving outstanding success. In GCSE Drama, every pupil achieved the highest possible grade of a 9 whilst at A Level, students achieved a combination of A*s and As across the board.
At Moreton, all disciplines are equally valued and our pupils progress into a diverse range of fields, from national and international sports teams to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Oxbridge. When pupils leave Moreton Hall, they are not only prepared for life outside the gates but equipped to work in a diverse range of fields with the skills they need to succeed.
Last year saw a refurbishment of Moreton Hall’s site, with a £1 million investment in the infrastructure of the school site. The work undertaken not only benefits current Moreton pupils and families but also the wider community. Moreton’s 25 metre indoor swimming pool, which is also home to local competitor swimming groups, Oswestry Otters and Chirk Dragons, underwent a full refurbishment and was reopened this March.
Moreton Hall is a through school, with a nursery, prep school, senior school and sixth form. At Senior School we are predominantly a boarding school with day students being fully integrated into the school, they also have the option of flexi-boarding.
A prospectus can provide only a glimpse of the wealth of opportunities that await pupils at Moreton Hall. We warmly invite you to come and discover what makes Moreton such a remarkable place on the 28 September at 10am.
