North Shropshire College (NSC) is pleased to announce that due to the popularity of dog training courses, a further venue is available for people to bring their beloved four legged friends to.
Currently the College has dog training classes ranging from puppy, bronze, silver and gold at venues in Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch. New for September 2018 the Walford Campus will be opening its doors to dog training classes which is ideal for people living in the Baschurch, Ruyton XI Towns and Shrewsbury area.
Tutor Melissa Nicholson is really pleased with being able to offer more courses. Melissa comments, ‘Its great news for us adding Walford Campus as a venue. The courses are available for all dogs – pedigree or crossbreed, young or old – to improve their obedience, socialise and enjoy learning new skills.’
With a wealth of experience in this area Melissa is encouraging anyone who has a dog to come along to the training and develop new skills. She goes on to say, ‘Classes are friendly, fun and safe. They incorporate The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme which is the UK’s largest dog training programme.’
The scheme promotes responsible dog ownership by teaching owners to train their dogs for everyday life situations. The four levels, Puppy Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold develop an owner’s understanding, while building a dog’s confidence and levels of domestic obedience skills.
Courses are delivered over 10 weeks and run at three levels; Puppy/Beginner, Improver and Advanced. Dogs must be up to date with vaccines and happy to work alongside other dogs and people.
