Charlotte Ruscoe has taken up the editorship of her hometown magazine Oswestry Life and its sister title; It’s Beautiful.

The new editor grew up in Oswestry, where both magazines are based and has been working as a freelance marketing and PR consultant in the town for the past three years. The 32-year-old will continue working with her freelance clients alongside the new role. She takes the reins from Eluned Watson, who was editor for two years of the magazine’s predecessor; Shropshire Review.

Charlotte graduated with a 2.1 in Business with Spanish, before specialising in marketing communications with a CIM Diploma and then going on to work in media and communications for some of the Midlands’ biggest organisations. After having a family, Charlotte set-up her own freelance PR business and was a regular contributor to the regions online and print media. It was while providing content for the recently folded Shropshire Review magazine that she met David Lee Birch and Tracy Leonard – directors of newly-founded DTS Media.

Charlotte said: “I’m delighted to be appointed as editor and look forward to the challenges ahead. I have big shoes to fill following Eluned, but no doubt with the support of the publishing team behind me, we will continue to produce a superior magazine. Despite the first issue not being published until March, the initial response and demand for the magazine in the town has been overwhelming.

“As the magazine evolves we will adapt to the demands of our readers and look at new ways of reaching and interacting with our audiences, but integrity and a community focus will be at the heart of everything we do.”

7,000 copies of Oswestry Life will be printed each month and distributed free of charge to homes and businesses in and around the town. It’s Beautiful will be printed and distributed around Shropshire quarterly.
