A special recruitment event is taking place on Monday 12 September – giving candidates the chance to see how important roles within the Housekeeping Department are at Oswestry’s specialist orthopaedic hospital.

A number of new opportunities to work at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital have become available following investment in cleaning and housekeeping services across the organisation.

Vacancies available at the Oswestry-based hospital include Ward Housekeepers, Cleanliness Technicians and Touch-Point Cleaners.

The recruitment event will take place on Monday 12 September and will run between 11am and 2pm in the Boardroom and Meeting Room One, above the Main Entrance.

The event will be drop-in, however there will be a presentation all about working at the Trust at 11:15am, as well as the opportunity to see the equipment and products that will be used by the postholders, as well as the chance to talk to different members of staff already working in the department.

Lisa Soden, Housekeeping Manager, said: “This really is an exciting opportunity to come and work within the NHS with a fantastic, dedicated team, who are all committed to delivering the best possible experience for our patients and staff.

“It’s never been more important to demonstrate excellent standards of cleanliness, and all the teams within the Housekeeping Department do this day in, day out.

“Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to develop their skills and gain new qualifications through training opportunities, which will all be offered during paid working time.”

There will be the opportunity to be interviewed during the event – though that will require candidates to register their interest in advance by applying for a vacancy via NHS Jobs.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive assistance filling out an application form during the event, making joining the team as easy as possible.

With the recent pay rise in the NHS salaries start at £10.37 per hour, plus enhanced out-of-hours pay, additionally, employees will receive paid holidays, starting at 27 days, increasing to 33 days, plus bank holidays, and good pension benefits, this is a great time to consider starting a career in the NHS.
