Family Crisis Centre Celebrates 45 Years of Supporting the Community

Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre (MFCC) proudly celebrated its 45th anniversary on Friday 12^th June with a memorable event recognising decades of dedicated support for individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.

The celebration brought together supporters, staff, volunteers, and members of the local community to mark this significant milestone. Guests were inspired by powerful and heartfelt speeches from Rhiannon Bragg, Maya Jordan, and Nicola Garrett, who spoke passionately about their experiences and highlighted the ongoing impact of domestic abuse, as well as the vital importance of MFCC’s work.

A special moment of the evening was the presentation of a High Sheriff Award to Jane Stephens, former Director of MFCC, by the High Sheriff of Powys. The award recognised Jane’s outstanding dedication and her significant contribution to the organisation over many years.

The evening was further enriched by live entertainment from National Milk Bar and the Newtown and District Male Voice Choir, providing a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere for all attendees.

MFCC extended its sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event, including those who attended, donated raffle prizes, and made financial contributions. The organisation emphasised that reaching its 45-year milestone would not have been possible without the continued support of the community.

Speaking after the event Hayley Heard, CEO of MFCC said “This celebration was not only about reflecting on our history, but also about recognising the strength of the community that continues to support our work. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us reach this milestone and remain committed to supporting those affected by domestic abuse.”
