Free family fun in the park returns for another year!

Oswestry’s football club charity is staging its annual showcase event with a fun-filled family day out in the town’s Cae Glas Park on 4th July.

TNS in the Park, organised by The New Saints FC Foundation, will kick off at 11am and features an action-packed programme of free activities for all ages. Visitors can look forward to a wide variety of attractions taking place throughout the day, including high-energy inflatables, an inflatable football pitches, and a giant football dart board, while a creative youth craft area and face painting will keep younger visitors thoroughly entertained.

A central club tent will serve as the event’s main hub, offering fans a chance to meet the official club mascots and learn more about the Foundation’s local initiatives, all whilst a music system will provide a vibrant, festive soundtrack to the afternoon. Additionally, men’s and women’s first-team players will be on hand for photo opportunities and autographs, subject to training schedules. Local pupils will also have the opportunity to compete in the special school penalty shoot-out competition to win a prize for their school.

The event will also serve as a brilliant opportunity for residents to find out more about the Foundation’s expanding local impact. Having just taken over the running of the local youth and wellbeing hub, team members will be on hand to chat with families and share details about the wide range of youth clubs, holiday activities, and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) sessions that the Foundation runs across Oswestry and the surrounding villages.

Gill Jones of The New Saints FC Foundation explained that the family fun day was a way of highlighting the varied work of the charity throughout the area with schools, youth clubs and other organisations. It also provided a free family day of fun for all ages;

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Cae Glas Park on 4th July. We always aim for the event to coincide with Oswestry Food and Drink Festival so it means visitors can stroll around the festival and then bring their families into the park for some free fun with us,” she said.
