The League of Friends to the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) hosted a hugely successful virtual music quiz at the end of July.

The online event was hosted over Zoom and was well attended with members of the local community, Friends volunteers and hospital members of staff coming together to put their music knowledge to the test.

The quiz was sponsored by local businesses, Honey Legal and Herald Wealth Management.

Taking part in the quiz was just for fun but everyone who bought a ticket was entered into a grand prize draw for the chance to win £100, which was kindly donated by the quiz’s sponsors.

The lucky winner, Rachel Davis, generously donated her winnings back to the hospital Friends.

Rachel said: “I took part in the quiz with my family and it was the perfect way to spend a Friday evening, we had a lovely time putting our music knowledge to the test!

“I decided to donate my prize money back to the League of Friends as I know how challenging the past few months have been for the Charity. The team have worked incredibly hard to support staff, patients and relatives at the RJAH throughout the pandemic, so this is my way of saying thank you.”

Anna Unsworth, the League of Friends Community Fundraising Officer, said: “We’re overwhelmed by Rachel’s kindness and so appreciate her donating the £100 prize money back to us!

“We’d also like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors for their generosity and to Paul Lovett from Essex DJ Productions for hosting the event.”
