One of the region’s leading law firms announced this week that it has once more signed as the main sponsor for an annual country park event to raise funds for Nightingale House Hospice.
GHP Legal, known for its support of local charitable sporting events, will again sponsor the medals for the Nightingale House Alyn Waters 5k and 10k Run due to take place on Saturday 18th April 2026.
The firm, which has offices in Wrexham, Llangollen and Oswestry, entered a team of more than thirty staff members in last year’s Run, taking first male place in the 5k, third place in the over-60s and second place in the over-65s, as well as having two solicitors finish the 10k in 60 minutes.
As in previous years the event, which is popular with runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities, will cover a single 5k circuit, with 10k entrants completing it twice. Also available on the day will be a children’s 1k dash, making the event perfect for families and community groups as well as individuals.
Starting from the Llay side of Alyn Waters, the clearly marked and fully marshalled course will take a scenic multi-terrain route with a mix of paths and inclines to keep things interesting. Water stations and events marshals will be on hand throughout.
Euros Jones, a partner at GHP Legal, said:
“We are extremely proud to once again be sponsoring the Nightingale House Hospice 5k & 10k. The hospice plays such an important role within our community, and this event is a fantastic way to promote it and raise funds for the vital care and support it provides for patients and their families, whilst also bringing people together in a positive and inclusive way.”
Registration for the event is now open. With tiered entry fees available, the earlier you book, the more you save. Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of £30 in sponsorship, with all funds raised going directly towards hospice care.
