Oswestry Town Council has awarded grants to two local organisations making a difference to our community.

Our Lady and St Oswald’s Catholic Primary School was awarded £1,248 to expand their library and promote accessibility and inclusivity and Lights Out Trefonen was awarded £3,150 towards the cost of running the Wilfred Owen Festival week in 2027.

The Mayor of Oswestry cllr Rosie Radford said: “We were pleased to be able to support the improvements to the school library and were particularly impressed by the pupils’ considered and passionate presentation.

“The Wilfred Owen Festival aligns with our UK Town of Culture ambitions and tourism goals, and we are delighted to work in partnership to make this happen again in 2027.”

The council’s rolling grant programme remains open to not-for-profit community groups based in or serving Oswestry.
