Grant applications have reopened for young people in Oswestry to get their ideas for local projects or activities off the ground.

Oswestry Town Council has set aside £1,000 to Oswestry Youth Forum to allocate grants which will help young people aged 11 to 17 fund a bright idea that will make a difference to other young people in the town.

Applicants can apply to the Make a Change, Make a Difference pot for funding from £50 to £1,000.

The Mayor of Oswestry cllr Rosie Radford said: “These grants are one of the many ways we support young people. If you have an exciting idea and need funding to make it happen, please get your application in. Oswestry Youth Forum would love to hear from you.”

As funding cannot be made to an individual, young people will need to submit their ideas with support from a sponsoring organisation with a bank account e.g. school, college, community group, youth club, sports club etc.

Guidance and application form available to download here. Deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Tuesday 30 September 2025.

Oswestry Youth Forum will consider each application at its meeting in October half term before reporting its decisions to Council. Grants will then be awarded.

Completed applications must be returned to Corrie via email: enquiries@oswestry-tc.gov.uk or post to: Corrie Davies, Oswestry Town Council, The Guildhall, Oswestry, Shropshire SY11 1PZ.

Alternatively, if you would like more information or an informal chat email Corrie: enquiries@oswestry-tc.gov.uk or Amanda: amanda@sya.org.uk.
