Oswestry Folk events, organised by Chris Woods of Lights Out Events, are experiencing continued growth, with their mailing list now exceeding 175 subscribers. The organiser has expressed sincere gratitude for the ongoing support, noting that strong audience engagement is key to sustaining high-quality live folk music in the town.

Supporters are encouraged not only to attend upcoming performances but also to help shape future programming by suggesting artists they would like to see. Where possible, and within budget, organisers aim to accommodate these requests.

The next event in the series will take place on Sunday, 26 April, at Hermon Chapel, Oswestry, featuring internationally renowned guitarist Claude Bourbon.

Claude Bourbon is widely celebrated for his remarkable versatility, blending genres such as classical Spanish guitar, jazz, fusion, delta blues and gypsy influences. His performances are further distinguished by his original song writing and distinctive, gravelly vocal style, often compared to that of Bob Dylan, promising an engaging and memorable evening.

In addition to this upcoming concert, subscribers have also been provided with the full 2026 programme, showcasing a diverse and exciting line-up of folk events in Oswestry.

Music enthusiasts may also be interested in a separate performance by acclaimed guitarist Clive Carroll at Rhydycroesau Village Hall on Saturday, 2 May 2026 at 8:00pm. Tickets are priced at £15, with reservations available via Keith Offord (keith@keithofford.co.uk). While not part of the Lights Out Events programme, the concert is recommended for fans of exceptional guitar music.

Under the direction of Chris Woods, Lights Out Events continues to establish Oswestry as a vibrant destination for live folk and acoustic music, supported by a growing and enthusiastic community.
