The popular annual Hope House Cycle Challenge is back and this year it promises to be the toughest ride yet!! The challenge will be taking place on Sunday 6th August and will be starting and finishing at Hope House.

This year Cyclists will be put to the test by a 57 mile circular route over five peaks of over 1000ft and a peak of 1368ft – as high as the Horseshoe Pass!! A link to the route can be found at hopehouse.org.uk/events/event/hope-house-cycle-challenge.

It costs just £25 to register for the challenge. Cyclists are also urged to raise sponsorship to help Hope House continue their vital work supporting children who are affected by conditions so serious they are not expected to live longer than early adulthood by helping them enjoy the best possible quality of life and making the most of every moment with as much happiness and fulfilment as possible.

Cyclists will be provided with refreshments at a halfway feed station followed by a delicious home-made fest of cakes and savouries upon return to Hope House. Spaces on the day will be available at £35.

Hope House Fundraiser, Lynsey Kilvert, said “Our Cycle Challenge is such a popular event, we see many cyclists returning year on year to take part. This year we wanted to give our cyclists a new challenge to really test them. The children and families that we support face difficult challenges every day”.

“Local dad, Karl Evans, has signed up again this year with his brother and a team of cyclists to show his support for the vital care Hope House provide his daughter Poppy and the rest of the family. We also have many people signed up from North Wales and across to Staffordshire – It looks set to be another brilliant day,”

This year’s event is being sponsored by Santander, Shrewsbury, and on-course support will be provided by Stans Cycles, Shrewsbury and the Hope House safety van and first aid car.

For the first time ever Hope House also have cycling jerseys that cyclists can purchase for the cost of £40. Cyclists can sign up and purchase their jerseys via the online link above or call the Fundraising Office on 01691 671671.
