Hope House recently held their annual training event at the Oswestry Campus of North Shropshire College (NSC). The event took place over two weeks and consisted of training for all care staff based at Morda ending with a full staff briefing on the last day with over 200 staff in attendance.

The staff used the Conference and Board Rooms at the Oswestry Campus for interactive workshops, guest speakers and a murder mystery team building event with fine dining provided by students from the College’s Scholars Restaurant.

Linda Cancelliere, Head of Care for the Hospice in Oswestry commented, ‘The training this year has been fantastic, my staff have all been very positive and have said not only how wonderful the training venue and facilities were, but also how nice, friendly and helpful all the staff were and the students provided us with an amazing meal, which was the icing on the cake for everyone! Having the training at the college also made things much easier for the work to be completed at the Hospice, we now have lovely refurbished bedrooms ready for the children to return to today!

Vicky Brayne from NSC, who liaised with Linda to organise the event commented, ‘We were really pleased to host this event at the College, it was a huge success and the staff were very complimentary about the rooms and facilities at the College and the Chief Executive has even booked for next year.’
