Are you a retired civil servant or the partner of one or maybe just looking for friendship, engaging activities, and a sense of community? The Civil Service Retirement Fellowship (CSRF) Oswestry Group is here for you.

Part of the nationwide CSRF network, the group offers a friendly and inclusive space where you can connect with like-minded individuals, enjoy social events, and hear from fascinating guest speakers. They meet regularly at The Wynnstay Hotel, Church Street, Oswestry (SY11 2SZ), providing a welcoming environment to catch up over tea, share experiences, and make lasting friendships.

In August, the group held their Diamond Award event at the Wynnstay Hotel. This year CSRF celebrates 60 years of service, and a presentation was made by David Tickner National Chief Executive to long serving Oswestry Group member Nora Giannasi.

Loneliness in retirement can be a challenge, but the CSRF Oswestry Group ensures no one has to face it alone. Whether you’re interested in lively discussions, learning something new, or simply having a chat with friendly faces, you’ll find it all here.

Forthcoming meeting dates and events remaining for 2025:

Tuesday 7th October – a talk by Maesbury Metal

Tuesday 4th November – “Peggy’s Diary” a talk with pictures by Peter Dunhill

Tuesday 2nd December – Christmas Lunch at the Wynnstay Hotel

Come along to the next meeting and experience the warmth of our community firsthand. For more details, visit www.csrf.org.uk or contact Mrs. R. Clarke at 01691 623380.

CSRF look forward to welcoming you soon!

David Tickner National Chief Executive and long serving Oswestry Group member Nora Giannasi.
