A group of staff from a Shropshire law firm successfully completed the Shrewsbury Half Marathon to raise funds for a charity which supports people living with ME.
Five members of staff from Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors donned their running vests on Sunday for the challenging course around the streets of Shrewsbury, which started and finished at the West Mid Showground.
Vicki Thomas, of Lanyon Bowdler’s marketing team, was one of the runners and said it was a rewarding experience.
“Shrewsbury Half Marathon is a very tough route with lots of hills, so we were really pleased to reach the finish line,” she said.
“It was a cold morning but the support from people out on the course was fantastic and helped push us along.
“We decided to raise money for one of Lanyon Bowdler’s chosen charities for the year, Shropshire ME Group, which does so much valuable work for people living with ME.
“If anyone would like to donate, they can still visit https://www.givey.com/lanyonbowdlershrewsburyhalfmarathonchallenge to add to our fundraising total.
“We would love to reach our target of £500, which would fund one of the charity’s Peer Support Groups for a year, so every penny will be gratefully received.”
Shropshire ME Group was established in 1987 to support people with ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, helping them come to terms with their symptoms and the impact of living with the condition.
