The Oteley Estate in Ellesmere is opening their historic gardens to the public again on June 12.

The estate’s owners will be transforming their original stable yard into a market for local producers and exhibitors, with tea, coffee and cakes available as well. They are looking for businesses that are interested in promoting themselves or selling their goods to take up stands at the market.

Visitors will be able to freely explore their 10 acres of garden, which features a boathouse, walled garden, tower, swiss cottage and a whole new perspective across the mere.

Clare Mainwaring, part of the family team at the estate, asks any interested businesses to contact her via their website at www.oteley.com. She said, “I would love to help support local, independent businesses by offering them space at our market. So many of these businesses have been unable to exhibit at public events for a long time now, so I hope our stable yard and lovely visitors provide the perfect set-up for them to boost their sales!

“The open days have been a great opportunity for us here at Oteley to promote our premium beef and lamb boxes. Locals have loved buying our tasty meat boxes with zero food miles! At the open day on June 12 we will be launching our BBQ Beef Box filled with delicious burgers and steaks – so come and stock up your freezer to get BBQ ready for the summer!

“I hope visitors will come and enjoy the wisteria, azaleas and rhododendrons whilst they are in full bloom, they are absolutely stunning at the moment!”

The gardens and market will be open from 10am until 5pm, with last entry at 3pm on June 12. Tickets for adults are £5 and children go free. There is plenty of parking on site and dogs on leads are welcome. Tickets can be purchased on the gate or in advance from www.oteley.com/our-events.
