Local singer-songwriter Julius Eastwood, has recently won Best Music Video (for ‘Borderlines’) at the 2024 Shropshire Music Awards.
The video was shot at multiple locations along the border of Shropshire and Powys, including Oswestry, The Racecourse, Lake Vyrnwy and Llanrhaedr.
After winning the award, BBC Radio made Julius their Artist of the Week across three stations – BBC Shropshire, BBC Stoke and BBC Hereford & Worcester.
Julius said, “Since the win and being artist of the Week, my latest track (Mirror) has passed 40,000 listens on Spotify, and I’ve got a new song coming out soon! Very exciting times.”
The music video for his self-penned single Borderlines was released in May. A love-letter to the borders of Powys and Shropshire; the stunning video follows Julius as he explores the culturally significant locations that make the area so special. Filming took place over two days in early March at many historic local sites. The video is an ode to the people, places & stories along the borders of Wales and England, a really special area of the world with a beautiful yet complex history.
