The Movement Centre is delighted to thank Unicorn Nursery Maesbury for its incredible fundraising efforts, after a fun-filled Dog Show and Summer Fête raised an outstanding £862.72 for the charity.
Held on 20 June at The Original Ball in Maesbury, the event brought together families, local businesses, community members and their four-legged friends for a fantastic day of entertainment, fundraising and community spirit.
The event held special significance for the nursery, as one of its pupils, Harri French, receives specialist physiotherapy at The Movement Centre. Harri and his family have experienced first-hand the positive impact of the charity’s work, making the fundraiser particularly meaningful for everyone involved.
Harri also played a starring role on the day, proudly taking on the role of Dog Show judge, much to the delight of competitors and spectators alike.
In addition to judging the dog show, Harri has been fundraising himself. Earlier this year, he completed a sponsored walk at Unicorn Nursery Maesbury, raising an incredible £1,448 for The Movement Centre. Combined with the £862.72 raised at the Dog Show and Summer Fête, the nursery community has made a truly remarkable contribution to supporting children who benefit from the charity’s specialist services.

“It was a pleasure to host a charity dog fun day in aid of The Movement Centre, which is an incredible charity that’s close to all our hearts.
We have a little boy at our nursery who relies on The Movement Centre for specialist physiotherapy, so the charity’s work has touched us all. We really wanted to do something to help raise money for such a worthy cause.
We would like to thank all our parents for their kind donations, the local vendors and many companies who donated raffle prizes, The Original Ball in Maesbury for allowing us to host our event at their beautiful pub, and the local farmer who kindly lent us a field for parking. A massive thank you also goes to our amazing Unicorn Nursery staff, who all worked so hard to make the day such a success.
And, of course, we can’t forget our fantastic Dog Show judge, Harri, who did an amazing job and helped make the event even more special.”
