North Shropshire College (NSC) catering students will be attending the Welsh Culinary Championships in Coleg Llandrillo, Rhos On Sea from February 21st – 23rd.

The students will have the chance to show off their skills alongside learner, junior and senior chefs and waiting staff from across Wales. The competition they will be entering is ‘Class C02b Knife Skills’ where they will be given 15 minutes each to complete a list of fruit preparations to impress the judges.

Hospitality and Catering Lecturer Phillip Bell commented “The competition is a fantastic opportunity for the students to showcase their skills and I look forward to them being able to see the level of expertise people in this country can offer. Everyone at NSC wishes them the best of luck.”

The students train in NSC’s Scholars Restaurant which is open to the public 6pm – 9pm on Monday nights and currently has a ‘Buy 3 meals, get a 4th free’ offer running. The restaurant is also open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11am – 2pm.
