Derwen College welcomed Oswestry Cambrian Rotary Club president Ron Pugh to visit the college’s brand new hydrotherapy pool, a facility which will aid students in their physiotherapy and sensory needs.

Mr Pugh presented the specialist FE college, near Oswestry, with a cheque for £275 which the club had raised towards a specialist shower trolley to support students in accessing the pool.

The new hydrotherapy pool will be used by students in their therapy and wellbeing sessions. The new building has accessible changing rooms, physiotherapy area and features a warm water pool with sensory lighting and music.

Fundraising Co-ordinator Paul Crosby was pleased to show Mr Pugh around the hydrotherapy pool, and Derwen College Business and Finance Director Andrew Smith accepted the cheque on behalf of the college. The pool will be available to students when they return for the new term in September.

Mr Crosby said: “Thanks to generous donations from the community, Derwen College will be been able to open the Bradbury Hydrotherapy Pool in September. I’d like to thank Cambrian Rotary Club for their contribution toward a specialist shower trolley which will help make the pool and changing area accessible to all of students.”
