“ I love Oswestry” was a comment made by local resident Joan when the Mayor, Councillor Duncan Kerr caught up with her during his regular “Meet the Mayor” sessions at Aroma Café, Oswestry recently.
She also highlighted the importance of having facilities for young people, like her grandson, in Oswestry. “Another skatepark would be good” she noted.
The Mayor heard that the Governments “Eat out to Help Out” scheme had been well received by both businesses and customers and that Oswestry’s growing café culture created a welcoming and bustling atmosphere.
“I found this a very positive session” said the Mayor. “It was really encouraging to hear the passion, resilience and commitment the people of Oswestry showed. We can look forward to better times with great confidence. People are very proud of this town, its heritage, its rural aspect and its events such as the Balloon Carnival.
