The Movement Centre, based in Oswestry, is a registered charity with a dedicated team providing specialist therapy for children who face movement challenges due to conditions such as cerebral palsy, genetic disorders, acquired brain injury, Down syndrome, and developmental delay.
The Centre’s core therapy is Targeted Training, a fully funded, 12-month programme that helps children gain vital skills such as sitting, standing, and walking. This unique approach is based on the principles of paediatric neuromuscular development and involves the use of custom-made equipment, regular reviews, and personalised treatment plans. Family involvement plays a crucial role in ensuring each child receives the best possible support throughout their journey.
Each year, approximately 70–80 children benefit from this life-changing therapy. However, to continue offering it free of charge and to expand its reach, the Centre must raise £350,000 annually. It receives no government funding and relies entirely on charitable donations, much of which comes from the generosity of the local community.
To support this vital work, the Centre has launched Monty’s Monthly Giving Programme. By contributing a small amount each month, supporters can help secure a stable future for the children who need this therapy most. Regular donations provide a reliable income stream that enables the Centre to plan ahead and continue delivering its specialist services.
