Moreton Hall has creatively responded to the challenges posed by national lockdown to ensure that a warm welcome awaits prospective pupils and their parents at the Moreton Hall Virtual Admissions Day on Saturday, May 2nd.
The May Open Day is usually a chance for visiting families to stroll the school’s stunning grounds, visit the exceptional facilities including the impressive Science Centre and the brand new Holroyd Community Theatre, and to meet the academic and pastoral team to discover what makes this welcoming Shropshire school one of the UK’s finest educational establishments.
This year, despite the lockdown restrictions, the Moreton Hall doors are virtually open and parents of girls and boys up the age of 11 and of girls from 11-18 years of age will be invited to experience the school’s unique values, as defined by our transformational former headmistress Bronwen Lloyd Williams (1945-73) as Scholarship, Gaiety and Humanity.
For Richard Briggs, the school’s Communications Development Officer, creating a virtual Admission’s Day is an exciting challenge: “Parents are invited to join members of the Senior Management Team, Academic departments, boarding housemistresses and students themselves to discover remotely a little of the Moreton Magic. The event will be held via video conferencing and allows prospective families from across the globe to gain an insight into life at Moreton Hall.”
For the school’s Principal, George Budd, the Virtual Admissions day is a unique opportunity to showcase the school whilst reiterating that as ever with Moreton Hall, when it comes to providing a first class and rounded education, it’s business as usual:
“In recent weeks, I have been so impressed by the flexibility, creativity, determination and commitment of the staff and students at Moreton as they adapt to online remote learning. Our parents and students tell us they feel similarly – we have been overwhelmed by messages of thanks and support. It is testament to our ethos that pastoral wellbeing and co-curricular breath remain top priorities alongside inspirational and challenging academic and enrichment programmes”.
