Moreton Hall’s diverse and wide-ranging post-16 programme offered in Moreton Sixth will be showcased this Thursday as the school, located near Oswestry, opens its doors for their annual Sixth Form Information evening.
Moreton’s new principal, George Budd, is joined by academic and pastoral staff, as well as by members of the Sixth Form to showcase the wealth of opportunities on offer including the school’s long-established student run business, ‘Moreton Enterprises’ and Moreton Sixth’s unique and far reaching Rylands Diploma Life Skills programme which covers topics from CV and Interview skills to managing Student Finances or changing a plug.
This Autumn, 97% of Moreton girls who have chosen to go straight to university went to their first or insurance choice with 50% of those choosing Russell Group universities. However, the school prides itself on the range of paths Moreton Sixth girls now choose, including Arts Foundation courses, Apprenticeships, post-A Level vocational courses and gap years, reflecting the quality and range of careers advice on offer here.
Senior Tutor and Registrar Caroline Lang commented “the new girls who join us for their sixth form from local schools across the region are an integral part of Moreton Sixth. It is a real privilege to see them embrace the opportunities we offer”.
Principal, George Budd said: “Moreton Hall’s Sixth Form strikes the perfect balance between stretch, challenge and support. It is my firm view that schools like Moreton Hall should enable, as far as it possible within their means, any young woman who would benefit from an education here to attend the school through our scholarship and bursary programme.
