The Oswestry Film Society is delighted to announce the long-awaited opening of Maona, the town’s brand-new cinema, located at 9 Arthur Street, Oswestry, SY11 1JN.

This exciting new venue marks a fresh chapter for film enthusiasts in the area, promising a lively programme of screenings for all ages. The opening weekend kicks off this Saturday with the acclaimed recent release Christy, followed on Sunday by a special 30th anniversary “director’s cut” extended edition of the James Bond classic GoldenEye.

Regular screenings will begin in earnest from Thursday next week, featuring a varied line-up of films suitable for all audiences — including a youngsters’ half-term special.

Maona’s team notes that they have experienced some early technical problems with their main website. For now, film listings and bookings are available via a temporary link: www.maonacinema.savoysystems.co.uk.
However, in some browsers the link may redirect incorrectly. If that happens, visitors are advised to type the address directly into their browser barhttp://www.maonacinema.savoysystems.co.uk — to reach the correct site.

The Oswestry Film Society is thrilled to see this long-anticipated project come to life and encourages everyone to support Maona as it brings a dedicated cinema experience back to the town.
