Gobowen’s young people have the chance to develop their skills in new fun football sessions led by The New Saints FC Foundation.
The Foundation – the charity linked to Oswestry’s TNS Football Club – has launched the Fun Football skills development sessions at Gobowen’s Pavilion and playing field on Monday nights from 5pm to 6pm alongside the Foundation’s weekly youth club.
The sessions, which started last week, are open to children aged 9 to 16 years from Years 5 to11 and cost £4 per session and £3.50 if block booked.
“The fun football sessions are supported by Selattyn and Gobowen Parish Council as part of the youth club which means we have been able to offer a subsidised fee,” said Gill Jones of the Foundation.
The Foundation runs weekly youth clubs in Ellesmere, Gobowen, Weston Rhyn and Whittington, and in Oswestry for 10 to 16-year-olds, in partnership with Shropshire Youth Association, offering spaces to socialise with friends, meet the Foundation youth workers and take part in activities.
