Shropshire’s Lingen Davies Cancer Support charity has launched a new committee in the north of the county, with the challenge to raise £50k this year to further improve the lives of those living with cancer in the region.
The committee is chaired by Keith Barrow and it’s reach stretches from Market Drayton to the east to Oswestry in the West. Linda Arthan, committee member, said “Everyone will know someone who has or has had cancer or has been affected by cancer.” Lingen Davies do tremendous work within Shropshire to support people both during and after cancer treatment. “We will be looking to encourage our amazing local communities to join us, as together, we can make a real difference”, she added.
If you would like to join the committee they are still open to new members. They are also keen to set up a directory of volunteers in the area. If you’d be willing to give up a few hours to help, have a fundraising idea, or if you know somewhere that would like a permanent collection tin, please make contact. The easiest way is via our Facebook page where you can also keep up to date with fundraising events in the area @LingenDaviesNorthShropshire. Or via email to lingendaviesnorthshropshire@gmail.com
