For many years now, Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital and Severn Hospice had enjoyed a successful partnership; and once again Nuffield Health staff, colleagues and friends have raised over £1,000 for this well deserving charity.
On 17th May 2018, Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital hosted its Annual Charity Quiz Evening at The Montgomery Waters Meadow Stadium.
This year, 19 teams battled their way through 10 rounds of questions prepared by quiz master Mr Chris Symes. Teams featured staff from the hospital as well as GPs, consultants, dentists, friends and families!
Debbie Williams a member of the hospital’s administration team and ‘The Harmer Hillbillies’ retained their crown from 2017.
Mike Haffenden, Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital Director comments: “We have worked with Severn Hospice for many years and we are delighted that for the 2nd year in a row we have raised over £1000 for the charity at this annual event. This year’s grand total was £1,007 and my thanks go to the team for arranging such a fantastic event.’
Lucy Ruff, Fundraising Manager at Severn Hospice said: “We are very grateful to Nuffield Health for this donation. Severn Hospice provides specialist care and support free of charge to families across Shropshire and Mid Wales who are living with an incurable illness. The care we provide is free of charge, but not without cost and every year we need to raise around £7 million: we are only able to do this thanks to the kindness and generosity of our supporters.”
‘We are delighted that Nuffield Health will also be joining us as a sponsor for our Severn Hospice Colour Run for the 2nd year. This is all set to be a really great day. On Sunday 10th June, Telford Town Park will be turned into a kaleidoscope of colour as people walk, jog or run the 5km course and get covered in powdered paint. As well as being great fun for all ages and abilities, everyone taking part is raising money for Severn Hospice and helping to ensure we are here to care for people when they need it most.” added Lucy Ruff.
