An Oswestry area joinery and shop fitting company is getting ready for a toast to success after helping launch the town’s first micropub.

Paul Thomas of Fistral Ltd based in St Martins, has been working with Jamie Jones of The Bastion Ale House in Leg Street, Oswestry to create a tiny haven of real ale and craft beer in the centre of the town.

The micropub is due to open on November 15 and will have capacity for 25 customers downstairs and a further 15 upstairs.

Paul and his team at Fistral have helped create the interior of the new micropub by designing and building the bespoke bar and fittings for the venue which was previously a cheese shop.

“It’s a fantastic new venue for Oswestry and we’ve been delighted to be involved in bringing it to fruition. I can’t wait for the opening night,” said Paul.

Micropub owner, Jamie Jones, who currently works in the brewery business, said he had used local companies to carry out the conversion work with Fistral Ltd as the main contractor.

The new micropub will offer a wide range of different craft beers from independent brewers.

“It’s something I have always wanted to do and it will be something different for the town,” said Jamie.

Fistral Ltd, based at the Bank Top Industrial Estate, specialises in bespoke joinery as well as designing and fitting out new premises.

The company was set up six years ago and its projects include Fouzi’s Cafe Bar and Pizzeria in Llangollen, the Castle Bistro in Chirk, Yareal UK Offices in Oswestry andthe ten pin bowling centre at Cheshire Oaks.
