Oswestry based GWR Fasteners Limited has announced the arrival of a new CNC sliding head lathe, which made its appearance just over a week ago and weighs in at more than 3 tonnes. The addition reflects the company’s continued commitment to precision engineering, where there is no such thing as “too many machines”, only limited floor space.
This latest investment builds on the company’s already efficient production capabilities, providing the team with even greater capacity to keep operations running smoothly behind the scenes. In practical terms, it enables faster turnaround times, improved consistency, and increased flexibility across both small bespoke batches and large-scale production runs. For customers, this translates to less waiting and greater efficiency.
The new machine also creates opportunities to take on more complex and technically demanding work, while maintaining the high standards for which GWR Fasteners is known. It represents another step in the company’s ongoing evolution, enhancing speed, quality, and overall service.
Dan Farrar, lead CNC Setter/Operator, commented:
“He started at the company as an apprentice in 2017, so seeing another machine arrive is always a good day. It really helps the team keep everything ticking along nicely. They can get through jobs more efficiently, take on a wider range of work, and stay on top of demand. It also means quicker turnaround times for customers, which is what it’s all about.”
While the new machine may take centre stage, it is the company’s continued investment in both technology and its team that drives progress. GWR Fasteners remains committed to improving, growing, and delivering the reliable, responsive service its customers expect—now with a little extra horsepower and a slightly busier workshop.
