Members of Oswestry Cancer Buddies recently enjoyed an inspiring and informative talk from Debbie Suckling of the Jenna Blair Yoga Community, learning how yoga and gentle movement can support both physical and emotional wellbeing during and after a cancer diagnosis.
Based in Shrewsbury, Debbie is passionate about making yoga accessible to everyone. With more than 40 years’ experience as a nurse, she has cared for patients in chemotherapy units, Accident & Emergency departments and general practice. Drawing on both her professional knowledge and personal experience, Debbie shared how gentle movement, breathwork and mindfulness can help restore physical and mental balance while promoting a sense of inner calm.
The Jenna Blair Yoga Community is supported by Lingen Davies Cancer Support as part of its wellbeing programme for people affected by cancer. As the not-for-profit arm of the organisation, its mission is to provide inclusive yoga sessions and creative activities that support health and wellbeing for all.
Inclusivity is at the heart of everything the community offers, creating opportunities for people of all abilities to enjoy the benefits of yoga while encouraging connection, compassion and kindness.
