A personal trainer from Oswestry, along with two Oswestry gyms is organising an event to raise vital funds and awareness for the mental health charity, Mind.org.uk.

Luke Smith of Imperium Personal Training, has joined forces with Evolution Gym and Active 8 Gym to host a charity football tournament at The Venue at Park Hall.

Luke said: “It’s been a tough few months living in our area with the community struggling in a battle against mental health now for some time, and this needs to change.”

“Over the past few weeks myself, Evolution Gym and Active 8 Gym have been planning to get together to raise some money and awareness for mind.org.uk by playing a charity football match at the The Venue on Sunday 17th November.”

“On the 17th of November at 1pm – four local teams from four different post codes will all get together at the Venue to raise money for a brilliant and relevant charity.   The support we have had from the community and local businesses around Oswestry has been overwhelming. We’ve sold more than 200 tickets and expecting to sell another 300 before the day of the event. We hope as many people as possible will come and show their support. Tickets can be bought from Evolution Gym in Oswestry or The Venue.”

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Graeme Sutton of Sol Distribution and KCS Trade for both sponsoring the Match with a very generous £1000 each.”
